ACTIVITY
The program aims to implement the Post-Programme Activity by MaPY37/2011 which associated with The Ship for Southeast Asian Youth program (SSEAYP) Discussion Group which has been segregated during SSEAYP Program namely International relation, Environment and School Education. International Volunteer comprises of volunteers from England, Thailand, Algeria, German, Indonesia, Myanmar and Ghana has been invited to show their support towards this program and to achieve mission of the program as well.
The program starts when all participants gather to get explanations from the Malaysia National Zoo representative. After the explanation, participants has been given official program shirt for One Malaysia Green, One Malaysia Clean (1MG 1MC) to streamline volunteers attire.
Participants in this program are divided into three groups namely planting trees group, cleaning of the painting group and cleaning animal pens group. The purpose of volunteer group as to give different kind of exposures and experiences while doing volunteer work as well as foster international relationships when working together.
MaPY 2010 alo contribute a total of 200 seedlings to National Zoo. Group planting of trees has planted about 100 seedlings in three different areas in the Malaysia National Zoo while the painting group managed to paint the faded fences surrounding the zoo. During the program, we have been brief and guided by Malaysia National Zoo’s Employee at all the time to ensure our programs run smoothly and to help oversee our program.
The entire program lasted for four hours and ended at 12:00 pm. The program runs smoothly and no difficulties experienced. Upon completion of voluntary work, we break for lunch at 1:00 pm and returned to the hotel.
